Regular Fume Cupboard Testing – is essential to ensure pupils and staff remain safe while conducting experiments. Fumair carry out maintenance & testing of ducted and mobile filtered fume cupboards within the classroom and in the prep rooms.
Typically, classroom fume cupboards are built to the recommendations of CLEAPSS BB:88 (which superseded Design Note 29) and are tested accordingly. Whilst most prep room cupboards are built to the same standard (BB:88), they are typically used at greater frequencies and with higher concentrations of chemicals. With this in mind we recommend tests are carried out to the more stringent standards used for laboratory fume cupboards (BS:14175).
Fume Cupboard Repairs – We provide repairs for fume cupboards and LEV systems within schools. Many times companies have the ability to test a fume cupboard or LEV system, but do not have the knowledge or the skills to carry out repairs when issues and problems are found. We can repair most makes of fume cupboard, ducting and provide replacement motors and fans where required to get your equipment up and running as quickly as possible.
Fume Cupboard Filters – The filter is the most important part of a re-circulating fume cupboard. We can provide most make and models replacement carbon filters at competitive prices and on short lead times.
Fume Cupboard Airflow Monitors in Schools – Many older fume cupboards do not have any form of audible or visual airflow indicator. This potentially puts students and staff at risk of exposure to hazardous chemicals escaping the fume cupboard, due to insufficient airflow, misuse, mechanical failure and/or saturated filters.
Fumair offer a range of low cost electronic fume cupboard airflow monitors & alarms which can be easily retro fitted to any make or model. Click here more information.
